Abstract
푸치니의《라보엠》을 라이트모티브기법을 적용하여 분석·연구하였다. 이탈리아 오페라 연구를 바그너의 ‘라이트모티브기법’으로 끌어나간다는 것이 의아할 수 있다. 그러나 본 논문으로 《라보엠》에서 라이트모티브와 같은 기능과 역할을 가진 선율과 동기들이 사용되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 오페라 《라보엠》에서 미미와 로돌포에게 나타나고 있는 주제선율과 동기의 운용을 볼 때, “음악과 문학이 서로를 손상시킴이 없는 범신론적 행복한 결합을 이룩한 상태”를 이념으로 하는 종합예술작품(Gesamtkunstwerk)이라는 개념을 주장한 바그너의 정신이 푸치니의 작품에도 영향을 주었다고 할 수 있다. 또한 사실주의 작품을 기초로 한 《라보엠》에서의 라이트모티브기법은 베리즈모 오페라가 갖는 사실적 표현을 위한 수단이었다. 《라보엠》에서 주인공 미미와 로돌포를 비롯한 등장인물들은 자신의 주제선율과 동기를 가지고 있었으며 이 주제와 동기들은 극을 전개해 나감에 있어 조화롭게 혹은 대조를 이루며 사실적으로 극을 구성하였다. 바그너의 라이트모티브에 비견되는 주제와 동기들은 작품 전체에 있어 ‘예비’하고 ‘기억’하여 극과 음악의 조화를 이룬다. | This thesis applied leitmotif technique in analyzing and studying Puccini’s 《LaBohĿme》. Although it could be strange using Wagner’s leitmotif technique in the research of Italian opera, it was found that there were melodies and motifs used, that have the same roles as leitmotifs in 《LaBohĿme》. Looking at the use of the theme melody and motif appearing in Mimº and Rodolfo in the opera 《LaBohĿme》, It could be said that Wagner’s spirit that emphasized the concept of comprehensive artwork (Gesamtkunstwerk) that puts its philosophy as “the state of happy pantheistic union where literature and music does not degrade each other” could have affected Puccini’s work. Also, the leitmotif method in 《LaBohĿme》 which was based on a realistic piece, was a method for the realistic expression that Verismo opera has. The characters including Mimº and Rodolfo in 《LaBohĿme》 had their own theme melody and motif and these themes and motifs formed harmony or contrast as the play developed and formed the play realistically. The themes and motifs comparable to Wagner’s leitmotif in the whole play “reserve” and “remember” to form harmony between the play and music.; This thesis applied leitmotif technique in analyzing and studying Puccini’s 《LaBohĿme》.
