Phylum Foraminifera d’Orbigny, 1826 is one of the protozoan groups inhabiting either sea floor or water column. Benthic foraminiferans have a wide range of distribution, ranging from brackish to marine environment. Distribution of foraminifera is affected by various environmental factors, and they are useful indicators of modern and past environmental conditions. So far, Korean foraminiferal fauna has been poorly studied. Foraminiferans were collected along the western south coast of Jeju Island with van Veen grab. In total, 20 species of foraminiferans were collected from the study area. Fifteen species were reported previously in ecological studies without taxonomical descriptions. Other five species are reported for the first time in Korea. The aim of this study is to taxonomically describe these five species..I have also recorded the highest diversity (16 species) at the St. 4, whereforaminiferans were collected from muddy sediments.-
