This paper focused on the discourse of a being which is a hot issue of modern art and examined the meaning of a being of identity and selfhood expressed in art works with a focus on analyzing the work expressing human inner world. Since art works concentrate on the representation of internal beings expressed by original experience, and convey essentially perceived experiences, it is necessary to identify in what original way the real world constitutes and transforms artworks in order to understand the visual subtlety formed by convergent and abstract images. Art works contain the artist’s unique aesthetic characteristics. In modernist paintings where artistic autonomy is emphasized, for example, the problem of beings is dismantled or extinguished with the environmental crisis. Contemporary art emphasizes self-expression, but it lacks research on internal existence and form, and thus this study emphasizes the meaning of the existence of art works. In terms of selection of works, we examined the significance of identity and selfhood in romanticism, realism, impressionism, cubism, and 20C-21C paintings that have begun to show radical changes in perspective that could not be seen in previous times and analyzed the characteristics of the works trying to express the inner world of man through the artist 's inner existential form approach.According to the results of the work research analysis, modern daily life has an important influence on human thinking and behavior. We are looking for the shape of the work in the perception of the contradiction of the urban life and the consumption reality obtained by analyzing the environmental factors that are latent in the works in daily life and reflect the philosophical content related to alienation in the work and think the reason why the human being wants to exist. This study on the internal beings and the form which has been developed in the traditional research methodology in paintings will be developed along with the new research methodological paradigm such as ideas for projecting future identity to artwork with the emergence of the mega-trend, the fourth industrial revolution. In addition, this research on the internal beings and form expressed in the art works will be a source of discovering the new creativity at the same time as artists’ self-development through more thorough analysis, criticism, new and unique reinterpretation through further developed research in the future.en_US
