Abstract
Tower crane has been used to be widely used at the field of construction work for craning and transporting the heavy objects. Now, tower crane has been recognized as an essential construction machinery in the construction field for constructing high-rise buildings. However, the rental fee of tower crane is so expensive that it has accounted for an important part of the construction cost price. Thus, the improvement of operating efficiency of the tower crane has an effect of reducing the total cost of construction. Tower crane is run by its operator working at the high location looking down the construction field. And it is difficult to approach accurately the hook position to the target object because the distance to the craning object is usually 50 to 200 meters, so specialized signal man should be positioned here and there at construction field. However, it takes personnel expenses, so other unskilled worker send a signal, in this case, sometimes signal indicating method is different each other, which delays the working time and becomes a cause of safety accident. The objective of this report is to develop the distance measuring device to the target object, to develop the controller which managing these apparatuses and controlling the operation of motor automatically to improve the operating speed of tower crane.
