Abstract
Remanufacturing is a series of industrial process in which worn-out products are restored to like-new condition. This system consist of five step which are disassembly, cleaning, inspection, refurbishment and replacement of parts, and reassembly. And this system is the most effective end-of-life option method for environmental and economical aspect. Remanufacturing system is differ from repair system not only process characteristics but also product characteristics. So, it is required another availability model for the remanufacturing system which is distinct to repair system. and also performance index is required for remanufacturing system. Up to now, there are not many study about reliability for remanufacturing. representative research is the reliability model for systems are undergoing repairs performed during
remanufacturing. this model allows system modification, in which failed parts are replaced with components with different failure characteristics. And other researches are analysis of remanufacturing waste streams. and also mathematical model is developed about reusability for remanufacturing. However, these works do not deal with the availability of remanufacturing system. Therefore, in this paper we suggest the availability model for remanufacturing system by using Markov Process. This model represent each of the states of remanufacturing system. Also performance indexes of remanufacturing system are introduced. Performance indexes are consist of part reuse frequency and time, part disposal frequency and time. As a result, we can choice and control the proper part and offer useful information during the remanufacturing by using these availability model and performance indexes.
