Abstract
This paper presents an adaptive cruise control algorithm based on Map Information for fuel economy improvement. The algorithm controls vehicle velocity to against waste energy by using brake pedal and accelerator pedal where curved road. By previous study, controller made the vehicle coasting operation to improve fuel economy in curved road. This adaptive cruise controller concerned about space with target vehicle. In this study, the algorithm controls vehicle to close inter-vehicle space while coasting operation. This algorithm is simulated using CarSim® simulator with other driving vehicles for verifying its effectiveness.
