Abstract
An algorithm for an active protection system is developed for tracking high velocity maneuvering targets using multiple passive sensors. The proposed algorithm augments angle only measurements from multiple high resolution infrared (IR) sensors to form a stereo track which is initialized using a triangulation based approach. The proposed algorithm uses Interacting multiple model (IMM) to track the incoming maneuvering target and smooth the target trajectory state using augmented state smoothing (AS) at any fixed lag. Simulation study carried out to show reduced estimation error of the proposed algorithm compared to standard IMM filter, which confirms the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
