dc.description.abstractThe largest portion of the cost of program development is the maintenance cost. The same is true for Android applications. For this reason, many application developers apply design patterns for convenience of development and maintenance. However, when choosing which design pattern to apply, the performance aspect of the application is difficult to consider than convenience aspect of maintenance. In this paper, we measure and analyze the performance of Android applications in a situation where several typical GoF design patterns are applied, and propose a design pattern selection method in terms of performance rather than convenience of maintenance. We hope that it will help developers to make a reasonable choice of design pattern.-
