- Abstract
- A full-body interaction is one of the key aspects for human–computer interaction. However, we are unaware of any rigorous studies examining the effects of motion synchrony levels on cybersickness, presence, and body ownership. To address this issue, we investigated the effect of a virtual avatar with different motion synchrony levels, using six-camera motion capture, a Kinect, and pre-recorded interactions. The results suggest that the different motion synchronization levels affect all current dependency measures (cybersickness, presence, and body ownership), and these measures are related differently to the motion synchrony levels. We discuss the potential implications of the current results and the prospects for achieving a full-body interaction.
