- Abstract
- In this thesis, the wide-band PIFA antenna which is composed of two radiators is proposed. It is a case to analyze efficiency and bandwidth between reference PIFA and same PIFA with extra radiator. The Main argument is about combining two radiators which have a similar resonance frequency. Opposite current distribution will be issued in this case because it is the reason why two close radiator’s resonance frequency can’t be matched. Inserting capacitor between two radiators is an idea to get resonators to combine. It helps to reduce their coupling so that we finally get larger bandwidth than reference antenna. Both simulations and experiments verify an improvement in impedance bandwidth. The simulated and the experimental measurement impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna are 1100MHz and 1500MHz under a VSWR of 3:1 respectively. The proposed antenna’s bandwidth can fully cover 2GHz – 3GHZ. The measured total efficiency of the reference antenna and the proposed antenna are 59.74% and 62.54% respectively.
