Abstract
In the recent years, the radar technology, once used predominantly in the military, has started to emerge in numerous civilian applications. Nowadays, we can find various types of radar which can deliver the multi-dimensional parameters (range/azimuth/elevation/velocity) of their targets. Among those types of radar, frequency modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar systems have successfully been applied to measure the multi-dimensional parameters (range/azimuth/elevation/velocity) of unknown targets for a very long time, since the FMCW radar can be developed with high performance in low complexity and low cost. Two kinds of approaches for multi-dimensional parameter estimation of FMCW radar have been addressed with the practically implemented FMCW radar systems in this dissertation. The fundamentals of FMCW radar system is also introduced.
