Abstract
Ethernet Audio/Video Bridging (AVB) is promising technology in vehicle network (IVN) since it guarantees quality of service (QoS) for various traffics. Currently, new standards that added the control traffic have been developed by IEEE 802.1 Time Sensitive Network (TSN). In TSN, the performance of AVB is deteriorated due to the control traffic. To overcome this, frame is preempted that is specified in IEEE P802.1 Qbu. When frames are preempted, the guard band is used to not interfere with transmission of the control traffic. Because AVB traffics cannot be transmitted during the guard band, it is important to reduce the guard band. However, there is a limit to reduce the guard band since preemption is processed by interrupt. In this paper, we introduce new mechanism to reduce the guard band. All the nodes are synchronized in TSN. By using this characteristic, we accurately calculate the size of frame that can be preempted. In this way, we reduced the guard band and simulated performance of new mechanism.
