Nasal polyposis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the upper airway which develops in the ethmoidal and middle turbinate area. Nasal mucosal immune-reactivity may occur in varying degrees in polyps with allergic, local allergic, and nonallergic rhinitis. We evaluated the differences of nasal polyps from adolescents with allergic and non-allergic rhinitis for RANTES, TNF-α, and IL-5 contents. The goal of this study was to evaluate the role of allergic rhinitis in the pathogensis of nasal polyposis and the correlation between both.en_US
