- Abstract
- This empirical study aims to test the impact of female entrepreneur individual factors on success of new ventures, and examines how socio-economic factors associated with property rights, business freedom and attitudes toward entrepreneurship moderate the relationship between female entrepreneurs’ individual-level factors and venture success in developing countries. Using the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) surveys for the years 2008–2013 of eight developing countries. The Results indicate that entrepreneurial role model, entrepreneurial skill and household income have a positive influence on new venture success. However, fear of failure has a negative influence on new venture success. Result also confirm that socio-economic factors which are property rights, business freedom and attitude toward entrepreneurial could moderate the relationship between female entrepreneurs’ individual factors and venture success.
