Abstract
In the design of an electric vehicle, the driving power and efficiency are important specifications of the vehicle. To satisfy the highly demanded driving power from driving conditions, reduction gear for increasing power is applied for the electric vehicle and the estimation of optimal gear ratio for driving efficiency is an important factor. In this paper, the dynamic simulation model including electric power system is developed for the analysis of driving efficiency using model based design. Applying optimization algorithm to the simulation of the vehicle dynamic model, optimal reduction gear ratio which minimizes the electric power consumption in the vehicle was obtained.
