Abstract
In this work, a new experimental approach was introduced to precisely investigate the effect of friction between specimen and jig die under small punch creep(SPC) test. The aim of this work is not only to clarify how the frictioninfluences on the steady state creep behavior by the proposed experimental setup, but also, simultaneously, test if the friction is the only main factor for determining the minimum creep displacement rate. We carried out the three different SPC test as follows: i) traditional, ii) with no clamping force of upper die, iii) with tight fitting of specimen. Finally, we showed experimentally that the friction between ball and specimen plays an important role in the steady state creep behavior.
