R SYNDROME IS generally defined as a small group of cases in which schizophrenics perform autocastration in response to biblical delusions,1-3 although Schweitzer suggested that the syndrome should be expanded to include cases that involve genital self‐mutilation associated with any psychotic disorder.4 These cases generally involve a long history of paranoid schizophrenia exacerbated by delusions of sexual and religious guilt and an obsessive preoccupation with the Bible.1 Few cases of Klingsor syndrome have been reported in the East.5 This case report describes a Korean man who castrated himself in response to Matthew 5:29. The patient and his family gave informed consent for publication.en_US
