李穀의 산문에 나타난 나눔 문화의 양상과 의미 - ｢借馬說｣과 ｢義財記｣를 중심으로

Abstract

복지 사회에 대한 관심이 늘면서 우리나라 역사 중에서 ‘나눔 문화’의 연원을 찾아 문헌적으로 실증할 필요성이 제기되었다. 이 논문에서는 그 한 사례로, 이곡의 산문 두 편에 주목하였다. ｢차마설｣에는, 세상의 모든 재물이나 지위 등은 모두 다른 사람이 내게 ‘빌려 준 것’이라는 인식이 나온다. 이런 인식에는 서로간의 관계성을 중시한다는 점, 지위 등의 유동성을 인정한다는 특징이 있다. 이런 인식을 확장하면, 누구나 겸손한 마음으로 남과 함께 나누어 쓰고, 나누어 주며 사는 데까지 나아간다. 이것이 나눔 문화를 이룰 수 있다. ｢의재기｣에서는, 형제는 경시하고 붕우만 가까이 하는 풍조를 지적하며 형제가 우선이라고 강조하였지만, 그 과정에서 仁의 마음을 확충시키고 확장시켜야 한다고 했다. 형제 우애 강조 뿐 아니라 순서의 문제를 강조한 것인데, 이것은 나눔 문화에서 중요하다. 가족에 대한 마음을 확산할 때 결국 모든 사람을 가족 같이 대하게 되어 온 세상으로 나눔이 확산되는 결과를 이룰 수 있다. 이곡과 비슷한 시기에 살았던 다른 이들의 글에도 비슷한 인식이 보인다. 이 논문은 고려 후기에 나눔 문화에 대한 인식이 뚜렷하고 폭넓게 있었다는 것이 대한 실증을 했다는 것에 의의가 있다. With attention to the importance of social-welfare, it becomes an imperative challenge to prove any historical data, which traces to the origin of "sharing- culture" in the history of our nation. In this vein, this article pays focused- attention to two narratives written by Gok Lee (李穀). Firstly, 「Chamasul」 provokes the importance of borrowing from others. Here, the term "borrowing" denotes that personal wealth is to be indebted much to the necessity of others. As a result, this concept of borrowing as a mutual intersection between the rich and the poor, could cause all the people to be humble as well as share their possession. Furthermore, 「Wejaegi」 expands the brotherhood to the friendship in sharing social advantages. This social tolerance originates from a broad application of "In"(仁); this ambivalence proliferates the concept of family into nation. Also, the other writers in the same generation of Gok Lee presents a similar culture of sharing. All things considered, this article intends to prove a historical trend-the expansion of sharing culture in the late period of Korea (高麗).
