Hwanghak-dong is a historical place with social and cultural meanings and is well recognized by many people. Although interest in flea markets has been increased, after the restoration of the Cheonggye Stream, Hwanghak-dong Flea Market is in danger of disappearing. This area was a living foundation for the ordinary people and played an important role in the economic structure of Seoul. However, as Seoul changes continuously as well as the people who are living in, Hwanghak-dong Flea Market also need some adjustment to meet the trends. Thus, this study aims to plan Hwanghak-dong as 'cafes and exhibition and cultural space', which expresses characters of the region and forms a local community center as well as helps to recognize our history and culture. Through this space, it is expected to introduce the history and culture of Hwanghak-dong.
