근대 지식 청년과 渡歐 40여 일의 문화지정학－1920～30년 독일 유학생의 渡歐記를 중심으로－

Abstract

본 논문에서는 1920년에서 1930년 초반 獨逸留學生5인-金俊淵, 朴勝喆, 金賢準, 桂貞植, 都宥浩-의 渡歐記인 장편 연재 기행문을 중점적으로 살펴보았다. 본격적인 논의에 앞서 먼저 日本, 美國등과 대비되는 독일 유학(생)의 특수성을 살펴 독일 유학(생)의 의미를 짚어보았다. 다음으로는 표상적 의미에 따라 나누어 볼 때 경성에서 유럽에 도착하기까지 각 지역은 여섯 개의 구간 즉 ‘1. 京城-門司, 2. 上海, 3. 홍콩-싱가포르?콜롬보 경유 南中國海와 印度洋, 4. 아라비아해와 紅海, 5 .地中海, 6. 마르세이유(혹은 제노바) -베를린’으로 나눌 수 있었다. 분할된 각 지역의 의미를 통해 근대 지식 청년 5인이 이들 지역을 바라보는 複合的視線과 그 시선에 內在된 지역 인식의 文化地政學的의미를 살펴보았다. 이는 일본, 및 미국 유학생 중심의 논의에서 벗어나 이 시기 청년들의 유럽 특히 渡歐旅程의 구체적 양상과 의미를 살펴볼 수 있었다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다.In the study, it takes a close look at the long travel essay of five Korean students studying in Germany who have traveled across Europe from 1920 to early 1930 - , Joonyun Kim, Hyunjoon Kim, Seungchul Park, Jungsik Gye and Yooho Do. The travel essay is significant as it shows individual and continuous experiences of the five Korean young intellectuals from Tokyo to Berlin. It examines differences found in students studying in Germany from those in Japan and USA and young intellect’s representation of each area in describing their travel from China Sea - Indian Ocean.Mediterranean Sea and their first experiences about Europe and how they divided space. Based on it, it researches the five intellect’s complicated perspectives on the region and cultural geopolitical meaning inherent in the perspectives. It is significant that it provides a detailed aspect and significance of young intellectual’s experience in Europe, especially in Germany of the times, away from the discussion mainly focused on students studying in Japan and USA.
