정서함양을 위한 예술교육의 실제 고찰

Abstract

지나친 경쟁구도에서 심각한 문제로 제기되고있는 인간의 정서함양과 문제해결방안으로 예술교육은 인간의 정서에 지대한 영향을 미칠 수 있는 학과목으로 여겨져 이에 관한 연구와 실현이 절실히 요구된다고 하겠다.1995년 다니엘 골만(Daniel Goleman)은 ‘Emotional Intelligence’라는 서적을 발간하여 감성지능의 발달의 중요성을 연구 발표하였으며 이를 대중화하는데 공헌하였다. 정서에 관한 학문적 연구 동향으로는 주관적 인지적 정서연구, 생물학적 생리적 정서연구, 기능적 측면에서의 정서연구, 정서의 표현적 사회적 연구가 진행되었다. 예술활동을 통하여 글로 표현하는 것보다 정서적으로 복잡한 생각이나 힘든 주제들을 더 만족스럽고 쉽게 표현하는 것을 볼 수 있다. 예술활동은 각자의 정서를 표현하기도 하며 예술을 통하여 각자의 정서를 순화시키기도 한다. 인간의 정서는 교육을 통해 개선시킬수 있다.2008년도부터 학교안전통합시스템(Wee Project)을 시작하여 단위학교및 지역교육청, 시 도 교육청 차원의 학교 서비스 제공을 위한 다중의 안전망 구축을 시도하고 있다. 학생정서의 문제는 이 사회의 학교폭력의 문제와 연결되고 있으며 이에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 정서함양을 위한 예술현장 교육은 학교 현장에서 혹은 정부와 사립기관에서 진행되고 있다. 2013년부터 정부 차원에서 실시하는 학생 정서함양의 일환으로 교육부는 보건복지부와 공동으로 학생정신건강 학교-지역 협력모델 구축․지원사업의 일환으로 정서행동발달선별검사를 실시하고 있다. 정서함양을 위한 예술교육의 현장 사례로 2010 색깔의 꽃과 새 그리고 물고기를 위하여 -2010 유네스코 세계문화예술교육대회- 가 2010년 한국에서 개최되었는데 세계문화예술인 초청 예술교육을 통한 치유와 회복의 하위항목으로 치료와 사회복귀, 사회통합과 화해, 갈등과 평화 구축, 환경과 예술교육등 인간의 정서를 다루었다. 서울문화재단에서는 어린이 창의예술교육, 방과후학교 돌봄교실, 어린이 대상 문화예술교육 프로그램 서울문화재단 청소년 창의예술교육 사업, 문화매개자 창의예술교육, 시민문화예술교육사업, 꿈꾸는 청춘예술대학, 지역사회 문화예술교육 활성화 지원사업, 서울예술교육페어 ‘사람을 연결하고 삶을 나누는 예술교육이야기’등이 실시되었다. 인간의 정서교육에 중점을 두는 학교로 영국의 섬머힐 학교, 이탈리아의 몬테소리 교육은 전인교육을 시도하였다. 한국의 정서와 전인교육에 중점을 둔 학교로는 풀무학교가 있으며 인성교육, 전인교육, 더불어사는 사회를 지향하는 교육을 추구하고 있다. 과도한 경쟁, 스트레스, 중독과 범죄등으로 인한 인간의 정서함양과 교육의 중요도가 강조되고 있는 이 때에 정서문제의 심각성을 깨닫고 이를 해결하는 방법으로 예술교육을 도구로 활용한다면 정서의 결핍으로 오는 사회적 문제와 그 해결 방법을 찾아갈 것이다.As a measure for emotional cultivation and problem solving that have been raised as serious problems in the excessive competition, Arts Education is regarded as a subject which may have a profound impact on human emotions so research and realization on it are desperately required.In 1995, by publishing a book ‘Emotional Intelligence’, Daniel Golman published the research on the importance of the development of emotional intelligence and contributed to popularizing it. For academic research trends on emotions, subjective cognitive emotion study, biological physiological emotion study, emotional study in the functional aspects and expressive social study of emotions were carried out. Through art activities, people can represent their complex thoughts and hard themes more easily and satisfactorily rather then expressing them in words. They represent their emotions with art and purify their emotions through art. Human emotions can be improved through education.In 2008, Korea started ‘School Safety Integrated System (Wee Project) for the development of students’ emotions with support from schools, educational bureaus from cities and provinces. They installed multiple safety systems for the project. The problem of students’ emotions is closely related to school violence of this society and studies on it have been carried out. To develop students’ emotions, Korean government with support from the Bureau of welfare is developing evaluation tools for evaluating the students emotions. Through Art, people may solve the students’ emotional problems. Unesco of Korea held ‘2010 Colored Flowers, Birds and Fish-2010 UNESCO International Arts Education Council-’ in 2010 and discussed societal unification and reconciliation, peace making against the conflicts, environmental and educational education under the theme of social therapy and returning to society through arts education. Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture held ‘Creative Art Education for Children’, ‘After School Child Care Class’, ‘Children’ Culture and Art Educational Program’, ‘Creative Art Educational Program for Youth’, ‘Creative Art Educational Program for Cultural Intermediaries’, ‘Cultural Art Educational Program for Citizens’, ‘Art College for Dreaming Youngsters’, ‘Regional Cultural Art Education Program’, ‘Seoul art Education Fair -A Story of Art Education for Human Relationship and Sharing Life’. Summer Hill School in England, Montessori in Italy are schools which value students’ emotions and concentrate on holistic education. Pulmu School in Korea also concentrates on valuing students’ emotional development, holistic education and living together attitudes for the future society. Excessive competition, stress, intoxication, crime are the main issues these days and we need to recognize the severance of these societal problems and use art education as a tool for solving these problems. We need to find the way to resolve our societal problems caused by the lack of human emotions.
