Abstract
Two primary objectives of this paper are to trace the temporal evolution of Taiwan's economic inequality and distribution for the period of 1976-2011 based on Lorenz curves and Gini coefficients of income, expenditure and pseudo-saving obtained from Taiwan's Family Income and Expenditure Surveys, and to study drivers of economic inequality and distribution over the period of 1981-2011 using econometric analysis suitable for aggregate and disaggregate quintile-group measures based on shares and levels.
