Abstract
The aim of this study is to reflect on the 2009 revised national curriculum critically, to examine the change of textbook policy, and propose how to apply the revised curriculum to the development of Korean textbook for the highschool. I cannot admit or recognize the reason and the significance of the 2009 revised national curriculum especially on the revise of the optional subjects, because it did not correct the improper combination of the elective subjects in 2009 curriculum. Today we want the curriculum to embody the paradigm of our educaton focusing the creativity and the humanity. The policy intended the diversity and the high quality of textbooks by introducing the institution of textbook authorization. However, it ended in the poor result not only in diversity but in quality. Thus, we change the system of textbook authorization with expertise and professionalism. We have to develop the way which can give diversity and quality to Korean textbooks for elective subjects in a highschool curriculum. Finally we have to find the contingency in selecting and combining elective subjects.
