Abstract
Recently, there has been a growing attention to energy efficiency and environment issues and it has brought the continuing development of battery charge related Electric Vehicle (EV) technologies. Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) communication is used for exchanging information among EV, Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) and Smart Grid. ISO/IEC 15118 offers the standard of V2G Communication. ISO/IEC 15118-2 deals with, and explains about V2G message, timers and timeouts. When EV or EVSE timer is equal or larger than the predefined timeout, then it stops communication session before sending any message about termination of communication session. Here, it raises a problem where EVSE or EV is not aware of the stop of communication session that has been done by EV or EVSE. In addition, timeout might occur, leading to the stop of communication session and timeout might also occur when a vehicle user tries charging again. In order to solve this problem, this paper offers a possible solution; EV or EVSE transmitting timeout error message before stopping the communication session. Not only that, this paper suggests EVSE send timeout error message to Secondary Actor, notifying the other about any error that EV and EVSE have.
