It is important to make the pedestrian-friendly streets for qualitative satisfaction of ambulatory experience and street vitalization within central business district. This study categorized the street type as either main street zone(Front-side Block) or inside street zone(Rear-side Block) and examined the factors in pedestrian volume by the type of street zone through empirical analysis. The analysis especially focused on the variables relating to the physical environment of street as the influence factors on pedestrian volume. The result showed more pedestrian volume with more commercial-use zoning, higher mixed-use degree, and nearer distance to public transportation facilities & population-concentrating facilities. Also pedestrian volume was influenced by variables relating to the block structure - block size & the number of lot within block, and variables relating to the street structure - road width, road ratio, and road length. This article can provide the basic understanding of physical elements on pedestrian-friendly streets.
