Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze changes in depressions (emotional, behavioral, physical, cognitive factors) and in stress (social role performance and self-truth, sleep disorder and anxiety) in middleaged women according to their physical activities. Thus, a change in depressions and stress was analyzed according to general characteristics (age, education level, economic level), and physical activities characteristics (physical activity types, period, frequency, intensity). The study sampled 300 middle-aged women aged 40 to 65 years who participated in physical activities in Daegu's cultural centers and private institutes. Putting together all of the results, the participation of the physical activities is more important than the type of the physical activities. The continuous participants of the physical activities for middle aged women come up to the positive effectiveness on the depress and stress as for improving their physical fitness and physical adaptation. dancing in life needs to be popularized and spread to allow middle-aged women to participate in physical activities. To enable middle-aged women to continuously and regularly participate in and be satisfied with physical activities, programs need to be developed based on their preferences.
