한국 무용학분야 연구동향 및 지원성과 연구*

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 최근 새롭게 융?복합 연구 분야로 각광을 받고 있는 무용학이 실용학문으로서 사회에 기여할 수 있도록 효과적인 연구지원환경을 조성하기 위한 기초자료를 마련하는데 있다. 이를 위해서 최근 5년간 각 대학교 무용학박사학위 논제 및 한국연구재단의 무용학분야 과제 신청수와 선정률을 대상으로 연구동향과 지원성과를 비교분석했고, 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 무용교육, 무용사회학 관련 박사학위 논제가 2000년도 이후 계속 부각되는 것은 학계의 일반적인 흐름으로 실용 학문에 대한 사회적요구로 사료되었다. 둘째, 21세기 문화예술교육에 대한 높은 관심은 한국연구재단 무용학분야 무용교육관련 논제의 선정률과 선정액으로도 나타나고 있다. 하지만 전반적으로 무용학분야의 연구역량 강화를 위한 효과적인 지원에는 한계가 있었다. 셋째, 한국연구재단의 기초연구지원 방향이 현 산업사회에 필요한 다양한 문화콘텐츠 소스로 활용될 수 있는 무용학논제로 향하고 있지만 2007년 이후 현재까지도 현존하는 연구 인력조차 충분히 활용할 수 있는 체계적인 융합 연구환경은 조성하지 못했다고 사료된다. 넷째, 한국연구재단 무용분야 선정현황을 통해서 볼 때 각 사업별 지원목적과 선정된 연구과제 내용, 지원규모 등에서 현실적일 필요가 있다. 2011년도 학문후속세대 시간강사지원의 경우, 현대사회적 요구와 더불어 기초와 응용학문분야의 연구진이 공동으로 참여하는 ‘융합형 강의지원제도의 개발’사업으로 행해지는 것이 바람직하며 연구지원과 동시에 학문의 질적 수준향상을 위해서 성과관리뿐만 아니라 사후관리제도 강화해야 한다. 다섯째, 현대 고령화 사회에서 요구되는 삶의 질과 관련된 사업에 50대 이상 의 교수나 교수급 들의 풍부한 현장경험과 축적된 지식을 적극 활용할 수 있는 연구지원책을 마련하지 못하고 있었다. 따라서 거시적인 관점에서 장기간 연구에만 몰두 할 수 있는 효과적인 무용학 연구기반의 조성을 위해서는 무용학 석?박사학위소지자들 뿐만 아니라 기존의 고급 연구 인력까지도 수용할 수 있는 대학부설 연구소의 활성화와 기존 학회와 연구소의 공동 프로젝트 지원 사업을 적극적으로 시행할 것을 제안한다.The present study aims to provide a basic data to form effective environments for research support in order that the practical study of dance, which has recently been in the spotlight as a new field of convergent study, can make a contribution to contemporary society. For this goal, it analyzed research currents and results of support, based on the themes of doctoral dissertations in dance submitted for recent five years, and the number of application for assignments and the selection rate in the National Research Foundation of Korea. It has come to the following conclusion. First, it was found that such dissertation themes as dance education and dance sociology, which has been on the rise since 2000, are related to social demands for practical study. Second, an increased interest in culture art education in the 21st century is demonstrated in the selection rate and amounts of themes about dance education, shown in the field of dance in NRF. Yet there is, in general, a limitation in effective support for the enhancement of research capability in the field of dance. Third, the direction of NRF’s support for basic research moves to dance-related themes that can be used as a source of various cultural contents needed in present industrial society. Yet it is unlikely that a systematic environment for convergent studies, which can fully utilize the extant researchers, have been formed up to date since 2007. Fourth, in view of the current status of the dance field in NRF, the purpose of support for each project, the content of selected research themes, and the scale of support need to be realistic. In case of support for part-time lecturers in 2011 Fostering Next Generation Researchers program, it is desirable to be carried out, alongside the demands of contemporary society, in the form of “development of a support system for convergent lectures” in which researchers in basic and applied studies participated together. Not only is research support needed, but it is also necessary to enhance a performance management and a post management system to improve the quality of studies. Fifth, there has not been any support policy that can apply the abundant field experience and accumulated knowledge of professors or professionals at the professor level to projects that are related to the quality of life demanded in contemporary aging society. In consequence, the present study suggests that it is necessarily to accomplish the activation of university-based institutes that can hold the existing advanced researchers as well as master and doctors in dance, and the implementation of joint projects of academic associations and research institutes, in order to establish an effective research foundation for dance, which enables full devotion to a long term of research from a macroscopic perspective.
