Abstract
The study aims to develop a quantitative evaluation index under the existing guide line and criteria of designating the Urban Nature park Zone(UNPZ). For this study, delphi analysis and AHP analysis methods were applied. The former was for the selection of sub-index, and the latter was for weighting the sub-index. The following are the findings drawn from the study. The first, In the items for a natural environment evaluation, 11 evaluation sub-indices were selected as follows. They were ‘the diversity in species of wild animals and plants’, “the distribution of highly-valued wild animals and plants’, ‘an association with the surrounding biotope’, ‘a current status of urban biotope map ratings’, ‘a distribution of biotope within the zone’, ‘a grade of the degree of green naturalness’, ‘a grade of the degree of natural ecology’, ‘a grade of forest type maps’, ‘an area of edge land category, ‘an occurrence of a cutoff section within the zone’ and ‘a preservation zone establishment according to animal and plant characteristics’. The wight of three sub-index of category grew smaller in the order of ‘the Animals and Plants’ Habitat’, ‘the Natural Environment Evaluation’ and ‘the Cultural Ecotone Effects’. The second, 8 evaluation sub-indexes for a landscape index were selected as follows. They were ‘a distribution of characteristically geographical landscape within the zone’, ‘a distribution of unique geographical characteristics within the zone, a distribution of natural landscape within the administrative area’, ‘whether to include symbolic locality’ and ‘an analysis of the visible area of the view’ The wight of three sub-index of category grew smaller in the order of ‘the geographical landscape,’, ‘the Symbolic Landscape’ and ‘Location of Cultural and Historic Resources’ and the Harmonization with surrounding Natural Views’. The third, Eight evaluation sub-indexes were chosen in the item for efficiency in leisure space as follows. They were ‘a frequency of use by residents’, ‘a proximity to town’, ‘a convenient accessibility’, ‘a pressure for development of surrounding areas’, ‘a status of surrounding usage zones’, ‘a green area distribution per administrative unit’, ‘an association with relevant schemes’ and ‘a local residents’ degree of recognition’. The wight of three sub-index of category grew smaller in the order of ‘the Convenience of use’, ‘the Securing leisure Room’ and ‘the regarding broad-region greenness’. Finally, this study proposed a further research item of application of this indices to test in real job of city administration.
