부산지역 국제회의산업의 경제적 파급효과에 관한 연구

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyse the economic impact of the international meetings held in Busan in the year of 2011 in terms of its effect on manufacturing output, employment, and income of the region. In 2011, a total of 126 international conferences were held in Busan. The number of participants stood at 166,842, 76.2 percent of which was domestic participants and 127,142 people in number. Overseas participants consisted of 23.8% of total participation and numbered 39,700. Per capita expenditure of domestic participant and overseas participant was 534,114won and 2,812,024 won, respectively. The direct expenditure benefit of international conferences held in Busan is estimated to be worth 179,164 million won(67,527 million won by Koreans, 111,637 million won by foreigners) and that of conference hosts is 154,082 million won. The impacts of Busan international conference industry on regional economy are as follows. The effect on production inducement totalled 638,187 million won, the effect on producing income 103,113 million won and the number of employees was a total of 5,812.
