대학생 말하기 교육의 현황과 개선 방안

Abstract

오늘날 현대인에게 요구되는 가장 중요한 능력은 바로 의사소통 능력이다. 세계화?글로벌화에 따른 서구의 스피치 문화가 도입되면서 특히 말하기 능력에 대한 사회적인 관심이 높아지고, 인재선발에서도 말하기 능력이 핵심적인 경쟁력으로 작용하게 되었다. 이러한 말하기 능력의 필요성 증대와 수요에 따라 대학교육도 점차 변화되고 있는 추세이지만, 아직은 개선되어야 할 부분이 많다. 국내 대학의 경우, 교양 교육에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 글쓰기와 말하기 등의 의사소통 관련 교육도 점차강화되고 있다. 그러나 주로 글쓰기에만 치중된 경향이 있고, 체계화된 말하기 교육이 매우 부족한 실정이다. 국내 대학과 달리 외국대학의 경우 는말하기와 글쓰기 교육이 통합적으로 균형있게 시행되고 있고, ‘기초-심화-전공 연계’ 과정으로 단계화 되어 있어서 학생들이 4년 내내 체계적인 교육을 받을 수 있도록 구성되어 있다. 따라서 사회적 요구와 변화에 따라 대학의 말하기 교육도 확대 시행될 필요가 있으며, 단계화된 통합 교육, 수업 내용의 다양화, 교수법 표준화 등의 교육 방안이 시급히 마련되어야 한다. 이러한 문제 외에도 효율적인 강좌 운영을 위한 말하기 교육전문교수 및 튜터의 확보 방안, 수업모형개발, 강좌확대방안 등도 지속적인 논의가 필요하다.The most important ability, which is demanded to modern people in these days, is just the communication ability. As the speech culture in the West according to internationalization and globalization is adopted, a social interest in the speaking ability is getting higher. Due to this, the speaking ability is functioning as the core competitiveness even in selecting competent people. Even the university tends to be gradually changed according to an increase and demand for necessity of speaking education in this way. However, there are still many parts to be improved. In case of domestic universities, even the communication-related education such as writing and speaking is being further strengthened as an interest in culture education is getting higher. However, there is still tendency of being biased mainly just to writing. It is the real situation of being very lacking in a plan for the systematized speaking education. In case of foreign universities, the speaking and writing education is being carried out in an integrated and balanced way. It is made the phase with the course of‘basic-deepening-connection with major.’Thus, it is formed so that students can receive systematic education through all 4 years. Accordingly, even the speaking education at university needs to be expanded to be carried out according to social demand and change. There is a need of being imminently improved the stepwise integrated education, the diversification of instructional contents, and the standardization of teaching-method module.
