매장 후 머리털의 풍화과정에 대한 투과전자현미경적 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 매장 후 풍화작용으로 머리털에서 나타나는 형태학적 변화를 시간경과에 따라 투과전자현미경을 통해 관찰하고 법의학적 기초자료로 제공하기 위하여 실시하였다. 사용된 머리털은 정상대조군으로 정상인의 머리털과 실험군인 매장 머리털로 구분하고, 총 51구의 머리털을 대상으로 매장 후 시간경과에 따라 10년 단위로 분류하여 관찰하였다. 실험군은 사망 나이 및 시간경과가 명확히 밝혀진 봉부분에서 이장·개장시 유가족의 동의를 받아 현장에서 수집한 머리털을 비교·분석하였다. 매장 후 풍화된 머리털에서는 털껍질의 연속적 탈락, 털겉질내 거대원섬유 막의 응집현상 심화, 털겉질내 공동화 현상이 시간경과에 따라 심화되었으며, 시간경과에 따른 머리털의 형태학적 변화양상은 유사하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 법의학적 자료로 유용하게 사용될 것으로 생각된다.This study was undertaken to investigate the morphological changes of scalp hair according to weather­ing after burial and to offer basic data for forensic science. To examine the effect of weathering degree, the 51 human scalp hairs buried after death were taken from deceased individuals in tombs in Korea. The morphological changes in weathering hair shafts of the scalp were investigated using the transmission electron microscopes(TEM). There were little morphological differences of weathering depending on the burial period. The weathering changes includes detachment of cuticle layer, aggregation of macrofibril and hollow formation in the cortex according to the burial period. These results could provide basic data to the field of forensic medicine.
