중학생들의 성취목표 프로파일 유형과 학습전략의 관계

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 중학생들(N=296)에서 나타나는 특징적인 성취목표의 프로파일을 확인하고, 프로파일 유형 집단에 따라 학습전략의 사용에 차이가 있는지를 알아보는데 있었다. 군집분석을 토대로 3가지 성취목표(즉, 숙달목표, 수행접근목표, 수행회피목표)의 상이한 조합에 따라 4개의 집단 유형이 존재함을 확인하였다. 각 집단을 성취목표 프로파일의 특징에 맞게 ``저목표`` 집단, ``수행목표 현저`` 집단, ``숙달목표 현저`` 집단, 그리고 ``고목표`` 집단이라 각각 명명하였다. 판별분석 결과를 토대로, 4가지 성취목표 프로파일 집단의 상호 차별성을 확인하였고, 이러한 집단들이 학습전략의 사용에 있어 차이를 보인다는 점을 밝혔다. 중학생들에 대한 학습지도라는 측면에서 연구결과의 의의를 논의하였고, 본 연구의 제한점(예, 탐색적인 성격의 연구결과)과 함께 향후 연구의 방향도 제시하였다.The purposes of this study were to identify the distinct profiles of achievement goal orientations in a sample of middle-school students(N=296) and to examine if there is a significant difference in use of learning strategies among the identified profile groups. Based on cluster analysis, four different groups in terms of a combination of three achievement goal orientations (i.e., mastery, performance-approach, performance-avoidance) were found. Each group was respectively named as ``low-goal group``, ``performance goal salient group``, ``mastery goal salient group``, and ``high-goal group`` according to the characteristics of goal combinations. Results from a discriminant analysis provided evidence to support the 4-group cluster solution, indicating that the features of learning strategies were distinct among those four clusters. Implications for teachers` guidance on student learning were discussed. Also, future research directions and limitations of this study (e.g., the results obtained from pure exploratory approach) were presented.
