중학교 쓰기 학습에서의 루브릭 활용에 대한 질적 연구

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 쓰기 수행평가에서 루브릭을 이용하는 학생, 교수자, 평가자들에게 교수-학습 방법 및 평가 도구로서 루브릭의 역할과 가능성 및 제한점 등을 제안하는 것이다. 본 연구자는 루브릭이 평가항목에 맞춰 수준을 세밀하게 기술하고 정확하게 설명해 준다는 점에 주목하고, 쓰기 활동에서 루브릭을 사용하였을 때 학생들과 평가자에게 루브릭은 어떤 영향을 주고 교육적 활용 가능성을 갖는지 질적 연구 방법을 통해서 그 의미를 탐색해 보았다. 루브릭 사용으로 교사와 학생들은 어떠한 경험을 하였으며, 이를 통해서 드러난 루브릭을 활용한 쓰기 활동의 교육적 의미는 무엇인가를 알아보았다. 연구결과 루브릭은 여러 가지 의미를 가졌는데, 첫째, 중학교 쓰기 교육에서 학생의 쓰기를 돕는 도구가 되었다. 둘째, 학생들은 루브릭을 가지고 자기평가를 진행하면서 스스로 쓰기에 대한 자신감을 획득하였다. 셋째, 평가도구로써 루브릭은 의미있고 객관적인 평가가 이루어지도록 하였다. 그리고 교사들에게 루브릭에 대한 가능성을 고려해보는 연구기회를 제공하였다. 넷째, 교사와 학생이 계속 루브릭을 사용하게 되면, 교사는 학생을 능동적이고 독립적인 존재로 인식할 것으로 기대되었다. 결과적으로 루브릭은 학습차원에서나 평가차원에서 학생들에게나 교사들에게 전략적으로 유용한 도구이다.The purpose of this study was to describe the role, limitations, and possibilities of rubrics as learning and teaching methods and evaluation tools in writing performance assessment. The meaning of rubrics were discussed in terms of the reality of their usage, their deficiencies, and their possibilities, based on the experiences of evaluators, teachers, and students . The findings of this study were as follows: first, rubrics were meaningful in middle school writing education as a guiding tool for student writing; second, students could acquire confidence as they evaluated their own writing; and third, rubrics as assessment tools were helpful in reliable and objective evaluation. In addition, this study considered the possibility of using rubrics in creating research opportunities for teachers. Finally, teachers gradually came to view students as active and independent agents through the use of rubrics.
