Abstract
As family holidays are expected to continue to increase in the future, an experiential tourism for the purpose of educating children is also expected to increase. Accordingly, this study examined the educational effect of festival program using qualitative research methods, aiming at a family groups participanting in Hi Seoul Festival. Based on the previous studies, educational experience constructs were divided into a total of five sub-categories. Three research methods such as in-depth interview, simple interview, and participatory observation method were used. The result showed that the educational programs for the family unit made festival tourists have a positive attitude towards festivals, and showed family tourists perceived resource value, new experience, and psychological changes most greatly. Based on these findings, this study provided implications for effective education programs that may promote family group participants educational experiences at a festival.
