- Abstract
- Gear strength is the measure used to forecast the service life of gear driving system. Common methods for forecasting the gear strength include finite element method and AGMA 2101-D04 method. Although finite element method could calculate the strength with relative actual strength under the changing conditions, it consumes lots of time due to the complicated calculation. AGMA 2101-D04 method employs the equivalent form to calculate the gear strength in a short period of time, but could only be performed under the given operational conditions. Therefore, AGMA 2101-D04 method isn’t capable of forecasting the gear strength of gear driving system under the continuously changing conditions. This paper combined with the advantages of finite element method DAFUL/Drivetrain and advantages of AGMA 2101-D04 method to get the new method under the variable condition, we can do rapid calculation of the gear strength on the time domain.
