dc.description.abstractAnalysis of cavitation generation process around the dimple using 3-D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation Jingming Shang Dept. of Mechanical Design & Production Engineering Graduate School of Hanyang University Hydrodynamic cavitation is the formation of gas bubbles in a fluid due to pressure fluctuations induced by mechanical means. Cavitation generator has been used for heating and sterilization application. In order to study on cavitation generation process around dimple, based on the computational fluid dynamics software ANSYS Fluent17.1, the cavitation flow fields in Cavitation Generator with different conditions were simulated adopting the standard k-e epsilon model and cavitation bubble dynamics. The cavitation number, the distribution of vapor bubble fraction of the cavitation areas in the Cavitation Generator were computed.
