Abstract
수집된 자료는 IBM SPSS(18.0)과 AMOS(18.0)를 활용하여 분석하였다. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Objectified Body Consciousness and Body Esteem on Subjective Well-being in University Students. In this process, we investigate whether the Appearance Management Behavior and Interpersonal Competence a mediating role in the relationship between Body Consciousness and Body Esteem and Subjective Well-being, and through this, we provide measures to solve the problem of Interpersonal relationship or dissatisfaction with life. For this purpose, we measured Objectified Body Consciousness, Body Esteem, Appearance Management Behavior, Interpersonal Competence, and Subjective Well-being on the basis of University Students across the country. The collected data were analyzed using IBM SPSS(18.0) and AMOS(18.0). First, basic statistical analysis was carried out to confirm the basic characteristics of the survey data, Correlation analysis was performed to understand the relationship among the variables. In addition, a structural research model was selected to verify the fitness, and the simple mediation effect and the multiple mediation effect were verified based on this. First, the relationship between Objectified Body Consciousness, Body Esteem, Appearance Management Behavior, Interpersonal Competence, and Subjective Well-being showed a significant correlation, and Objectified Body Consciousness and Body Esteem were predictive variables explaining Subjective Well-being. Second, Objectified Body Consciousness has a positive effect on Interpersonal Competence through Appearance Management Behavior, but it does not affect Subjective Well-being. However, Body Esteem was found to affect Subjective Well-being by mediating Interpersonal Competence with Appearance Management Behaviors. It seems that the positive perception of the body is in a static direction for Subjective Well-being. The implications of this study are as follows. First, it suggests that University Students need to provide education and training so that they can positively perceive their bodies as factors affecting interpersonal ability and subjective welfare of University Students. Second, it is necessary to develop a program that enables University Students to have a positive physical image and appropriate Appearance Management Behaviors. Third, effective intervention strategies are needed to build interpersonal problems and happiness by training individuals' Objectified Body Consciousness and Body Esteem aspects from a positive psychological perspective. Finally, the limitation of this study and the direction of follow - up study were discussed.
