- As cooperative learning model has become popular for education thinkers and teaching, this model is likely to become significant issue for scholars and researchers in education. The purpose of this study on the Effect of Teaching for Cooperative Learning on Students’ Intrinsic Motivation and Academic Performance aims to report on the finding of effect of cooperative learning on intrinsic motivation and academic achievement in secondary school. This study is conducted at a secondary school in Cambodia, which researcher examined the two groups of study included experimental group and control group. The study would conduct in the class, which 39 students in each group would be examined. Besides that, interviews from the teacher who participates in this study, students, and observation provided crucial information and suggestion on cooperative learning in class, and clarified the reliability of this study. The results of this study show the significant effect of intervention of cooperative learning, which there are significance between the experimental group and control group in term of intrinsic motivation and academic achievement. Moreover, this study has placed recommendation on teachers and school in order to develop cooperative learning more effectively in class and in Cambodia.
