여중생들의 SNS 기반 미술활동 모임의 상호작용 특성에 대한 질적 사례연구

Abstract

요즈음 10대 청소년들은 자아의 표현 수단으로서 인터넷과 스마트폰 등의 네트워크 미디어를 많이 활용한다. 따라서 학교에서는 10대 청소년들의 이러한 관심사를 인정하고 표현 욕구를 맘껏 발휘할 수 있도록 해주어야한다. 하지만 인터넷과 스마트폰이 보급되지 않았던 과거에 10대 시절을 보낸 기성세대 교사들은 디지털 환경 안에 있는 신세대 청소년들에 대해 깊이 이해를 하지 못하고, 학생의 능력과 적성에 적합한 학습자 중심의 수업을 운영하기보다는 전통적인 지도방법을 많이 사용하고 있다. 이러한 시대착오적이고 획일적인 학교 교육 현장에서 청소년들은 미적표현 욕구를 얻기는커녕 힘든 기억만 얻어가는 경우가 많다. 그런데 학교를 벗어난 공간에서 능동적으로 자발적 미술학습경험을 이어가는 청소년들이 있다. 교사들이 교육의 주체인 학생들에 의해 생성되는 자발적인 문화에 관심을 가진다면 학생들의 요구를 보다 잘 이해하여 교사와 학생 간의 간극을 좁힐 수 있다. 더불어 오늘날 청소년들의 주요무대가 인터넷이 구축한 온라인 공간이라는 점을 고려하여 학교 밖 온라인 공간에서 이루어지는 청소년의 자발적 미술문화에 대한 연구가 필요한 시점이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 청소년기의 미술표현 발달과 여학생의 미술표현 특성, 청소년들의 온라인 문화에 대한 이론적 고찰을 통해, 사실적 묘사 부족에 대한 불만으로 많은 청소년들의 미술발달이 침체될 때, 시각문화나 타인과의 상호작용의 과정을 통하여 자신들의 기대 수준에 맞춘 도움과 필요를 채워감으로써 미술발달 침체기를 극복할 수 있다는 가능성을 확인하였다. 또한 온라인상의 미술활동이 디지털 테크놀로지를 새로운 표현매체로 활용함으로써 표현영역과 표현 기술을 확장시킬 수 있으며, 흥미를 기반으로 미술발달이 정체된 많은 청소년들에게 예술 활동을 지속하게 해줄 수 있다는 근거를 중심으로, 온라인 SNS 기반 미술모임의 상호작용 특성에 대한 미술교육적 가치와 논의들을 구체화시킬 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 여중생들의 온라인 SNS 기반 미술활동 모임의 상호작용 안에서 드러나는 그들의 진정한 미술표현 욕구, 학습양상을 살펴보고 미술 교육적 가치를 모색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 유튜브 그림 채널에서 만나 이루어진 그림그리기 단체채팅모임 유기농팸을 대상으로 그들이 채팅방에서 주고받은 그림과 대화를 살펴보고 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 그들의 그림, 대화, 인터뷰로부터 수집된 자료는 자주 등장하는 키워드를 중심으로 한 질적 연구 방법을 통해 분석하였고, 연구 참여자들이 실제로 사용한 용어들을 바탕으로 그들의 상호작용 특성을 정리하였다. 그리고 이와 같은 과정을 통해 알 수 있는 미술 교육적 가치들과 교육 현장에서의 실제적 활용점을 도출해낼 수 있었다. 결론적으로, 본 연구에서는 다양한 주제의 그림 혹은 그림 외의 다른 미술활동모임에 대한 연구, 중학생 여학생 외의 다양한 연령의 청소년과 다른 성별을 대상으로 한 연구 등 현 시대의 학습자를 중심으로 한 연구들과, 학습자 중심의 새로운 미술교육방법과 자료에 대한 후속 연구들이 이루어져야 함을 제언하였다. 더불어 본 연구에서 도출된 미술 교육적 가치들이 미술교육 현장에서 긍정적인 의미를 가지고, 많은 교육현장에서 청소년들의 다양한 표현욕구들을 인정하여 민주적인 수업 분위기 형성을 본 연구의 기대 효과로 예상하였다.; Today’s teenagers use a lot of network media such as Internet and smart phones as a means of self-expression. Therefore, schools have to recognize teen’s interest and allow them to show their expression desire freely.However, teachers who grew up without Internet and smart phones do not understand in depth of teenagers living in digital environment, and teachers use traditional teaching methods more often than new teaching methods adapted to students' abilities and aptitude. In these anachronistic and standardized school education, teenagers often fail to acquire aesthetic feelings. However, there are teenagers doing voluntary art learning experiences outside of school. If teachers are interested in this voluntary culture created by the students who are the subject of education, they can better understand the needs of the students and bridge the gap between teachers and students. In addition, by today’s situation that main stage of teenagers is online space, It is time for research on teenagers’ voluntary art culture outside of school. In this study, thus, through theoretical consideration about teenagers' artistic expressions, female students’ artistic expression, and teenagers' online culture, the possibility that teenagers can overcome the recession of art development by filling their needs set expectation level through the process of interacting with the visual culture or others were found when many teenagers’ artistic development is depressed by a lack of realistic description. Furthermore, based on the fact that online art activities could broaden expression realm and expression technique by utilizing digital technology as a new medium of expression, could help many teenagers who artistic development is stagnant to keep art activities, this study could concretize art educational value and discussion about characteristics of interactions within drawing group based on online SNS. This study, therefore, sought to explore the art educational value by searching for their true expression desire and learning modalities of middle school girls’ drawing group based on SNS. For this research object, pictures and dialogues inside group chatting and interviews were proceeded targeting ‘Yuginong Fam’ drawing chatting group. Data which were gathered from their pictures, dialogues, and interviews, were analyzed through the qualitative research method focusing keywords which appeared frequently, were arranged based on the terms used actually by research participants. Through this process, in addition, the art educational value and the point of practical use for art education fields were derived. Consequently, this study suggested a few kinds of research about new learning methods based on learner-centered education of art should be conducted additionally. Moreover, this study envisaged that many art teachers recognize teenagers’ various expression desire and make democratic class atmosphere through positive meanings and values which were suggested in ‘conclusion’ as expected effects of this study.
