영화 〈소셜포비아〉와 〈백설공주 살인사건〉에 나타난 소셜 미디어의 여론 형성과 마녀 사냥

Abstract

이 논문은 영화 〈소셜포비아〉와 〈백설공주 살인사건〉에 나타난 SNS 시대의 여론형성 과정과 마녀 사냥의 양상을 분석하고자 한다. 두 영화는 동시대 한국과 일본의 SNS 문화의 극단적인 차원을 형상화함으로써, SNS라는 새로운 매체에 대한 영화의 자의식을 민감하게 드러낸다. SNS가 ‘속도’와 ‘집결’이라는 특성을 발휘하여 자유로운 소통과 표현의 문화를 극대화하는 새로운 공론장이 될 것이라는 낙관은 최근 급속히 도전받고 있는 실정이다. SNS의 여론 형성은 여론몰이로 이어질 가능성이 크고, 억압적 권력 관계와 굴절된 관계망의 연장이 되거나 개인의 내밀한 사생활이 폭로되는 모습을 보인다. 두 영화는 다양한 내용과 형식을 통해 대중의 SNS 사용 실태에 대한 세밀한 묘사와 함께, 사이버 폭력이 현실의 물리적 폭력으로 전이되는 과정을 온라인 정체성에 대한 진지한 문제의식으로 심화한다. 두 편의 영화 속에서 그려진 SNS 공간은 유의미한 감성의 연대를 통한 사회적인 자각과 정체성을 형성하기보다는 과도한 참여와 동원, 사실의 왜곡과 편향이라는 그늘을 내포하고 있다. 결국 이 논문의 가장 큰 관심은 SNS 시대에 사람들은 어떻게 모여 어떻게 행동하는가, 그 과정에서 어떤 상호 연결의 양상을 보이는가 하는 점이다. This research aims to explain the problem of the forming public opinion and witch-hunt of social network service recently. Everyone can participate a public opinion through online replies. Through traditional media in the process of forming public opinion was swayed by public opinion to the target people simply but SNS age people involved in the production and distribution of the issue and the issue has a leading role. The public opinion of online was varied the sharing the building of the public opinion on the information whether is the news or not. The social media, in special make the public opinion which is shown in connection with the action, which is expressed the reflection of realities. On the other hand, online replies spread unsure information, infringe on human rights. This online witch-hunt is a serious social problem these days. There comes newly coined word netcarthyism. The people who practiced witch trials and investigations had some reasons for it. But today's witch hunters have no reasons. The online witch-hunt in , be characteristic of the point at issue about excessive exposure of information and damage from collective reply of personal attack type. Two movies show concerns about a number of side effects which can be caused by SNS, and recommendations were offered for the future research. It depends on the anonymity that the participants could be buried in the group identification instead they manifest their own identification, and it may deepen the group-polarization. The internet participants easily get the information what they want through the selective exposure process, it would reinforce existingtendency what they have had before. The polarization among internet participants who have extreme opinion and are apt to conflict with opponent group shrinks the expectation for the rational communication space.
