간호의 경제적 가치(Economic value of nursing) 에 대한 개념분석 - 산부인과 정상분만을 중심으로-

Abstract

Purpose: This study was conduced to analyze the concept of economic value of nursing. Methods: According to concept development process by Walker & Avant, the concept of economic value was analyzed. Results: Economic value of nursing can be defined by the following attributes: (1) Healthcare service provider can provide personalized and high quality nursing service to people, (2) It is possible to prevent complication and future risk of people through nursing service, (3) It is possible to help people quickly return to social life by reducing the length of hospital stay, (4) It is possible to estimate the cost of each nursing activity. Conclusion: As a result of analysis, economic value of nursing is to the calculation of worth of nursing intervention for person in need using monetary unit. It is expected that this study can provide basic information for other studies which aim to calculate the worth of nursing intervention and contribute to the establishment of policy and regulation for nursing cost.
