dc.description.abstract | A broadband piezoelectric energy harvester is one of the main issues in a piezoelectric energy harvesting research area. In a conventional design, only one natural frequency is located within an operating frequency range. Therefore, if the excitation frequency changes slightly from a resonant point to a non-resonant point, a power generation performance decreases significantly. However, a broadband piezoelectric energy harvester can be designed to have more than 1 natural frequency within the operating frequency range. In other words, the system has more possibility that it generates more power than the conventional design. In this paper, a horseshoe shaped broadband piezoelectric energy harvester is studied. Especially a distributed parameter model is developed by using a Kane’s method. This model provides kinematic information, voltage out, and electric power. The results show that broadband can be implemented using this design strategy. | en_US |
