간호사와 간호대학생의 노인에 대한 태도

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine attitude toward general elders among nurses and nursing students. Method: Descriptive study design was used through self-report format. Data collection was done from September, 2010 to September, 2011. A total of one hundred seventy-three participants, nursing students (n=75) and nurse (n=95), were recruited from Seoul, Korea. A scale of attitude toward elders developed by takeda and her colleague (1991) was used to measure the attitudes towards elders. The instrument has Three subdomains such as vitality(18 items), generosity(14items), and flexibility (5 items). Data were analyzed using t-test and ANOVA. Results:Means age of the participants was 26.7(SD=5.4), and the majority of respondents was female 165(97.1%), 76(44.7%) respondents had an experience in living with elders together: 51 of them reported that they had familiarity with elders who lived together. Vitality(F=3.33, p=.041) and generosity (F=5.61, p=.005) were statically significant by nurses' working period. Furthermore, generosity was significant by familiarity with elders who lived together (F=6.74,p<.001), and interest in elders/issues (F=5.22,p=.002).Conclusion: Nursing education program should be focused to improve the attitudes on elders in a positive way in both nurses and nursing students.
