시조로 말하기: 어지러운 시대의 시조- 李德一의 ˂憂國歌˃를 중심으로 -

Abstract

문학은 시대를 반영한다는 명제에서 시조 또한 예외가 아니다. 성리학의 이념을 토대로 발전한 시조는 어쩌면 가장 적극적으로 시대를 반영하고 있는 것인지도 모른다. 실제로 시조는 시대의 변화에 민감하게 반응하여, 시대의 추이와 함께 詩的 대상도 변화하는 양상을 보인다. 이에, 본고에서는 憂國時調에 주목하여 시조에서 어지러운 시대를 어떻게 노래하는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 그중에서도 특별히 이덕일의 ˂우국가˃ 28장을 대상으로 삼아 논의를 전개하였다. ˂우국가˃는 壬亂과 朋黨을 시적 대상으로 삼아 그 폐해를 적시하고 나라를 근심하는 마음을 담은 연시조로, 대표적인 우국시조라고 할 수 있다. ˂우국가˃의 본격적인 논의에 앞서 시대와 시조의 전반적인 관계를 검토하기 위하여 어지러운 시대의 양상을 노래한 일련의 우국시조에 대하여 검토하였다. 이러한 맥락을 바탕으로 ˂우국가˃에 나타난 우국의 양상을 살펴보았으며, 그 결과를 세 가지로 범주화 할 수 있다. 소극적 탄식의 어조, 반복과 대구의 표현, 연시조로서의 구성이 그것이다. 이것은 각각 발화양상, 수사적 표현, 작품의 구성 원리에 관한 것이라 할 수 있다. 시대에 대한 근심의 마음을 노래한 작품인 만큼 비판이나 경계의 내용이 자주 등장하고, 또 그것을 표현하기에는 강한 어조가 어울리겠지만 ˂우국가˃는 거의 대부분의 작품에서 탄식의 어조가 등장한다. 반면에 작품으로 형상화함에는 반복이나 대구법을 자주 사용하면서 그 主旨를 강조하게 된다. 또한 유기적 결합체로서 연시조의 정의에는 미흡한 일면을 지니지만 28장의 연시조로 구성하여 주제 전달의 효용성을 높이고자 하였다. 본고가 범박하게는 우국시조에 대한 고찰이지만, 그 중심에 ˂우국가˃가 놓인다. 그러므로 ˂우국가˃ 28장에서 우국의 양상을 표현하기 위한 시적 장치에 대하여 논의하는 한편, 그것의 연시조로서의 의미에 대해서도 간략하게 짚어보았다. 나아가 이로써 시대와 시조의 관계를 조망함에도 유념하였다. Literature reflects the times. And the Sijo(時調) is no exception. Rather Sijo reflects the most active times. Because Sijo is the development based on the principles of Neo-Confucianism. In Fact, Sijo is sensitive to the change of the times. So were the poetic subject change with the times. Therefore, in this paper is focusing on Wuguk-Sijo(憂國時調). In other words, This paper investigated that Sijo songs how the troubled times. Among them, particularly Yi, Deok-il’s 〈WuGukga〉 28 pieces was the main. 〈WuGukga〉 was the Imjin-War(壬辰倭亂) and party strife in the poetic subject. In addition, its damage and singing heart to care for the country as Yeonsijo(연시조). 〈WuGukga〉 is a representativeWuguk-Sijo. The order of discussion, the first review of the relationship between times and the Sijo. So, first of all mentioned a series of Wuguk-Sijo. Next, consider the look of the patriotism shown in 〈WuGukga〉. The result can be categorized into three. The tone of passive lament, Representation of repetition and rhyming couplet, configured as Yeonsijo this is it. This is respectively, articulation aspects, a rhetorical expression, and the principle component of the work. The contents of the criticism and warning often appear onWuguk-Sijo. This has suited a strong tone. However, 〈WuGukga〉 appeared mainly has the tone of lament. Therefore, the often used repetition and rhyming couplet. In doing so emphasizes the contents. In addition, consists of 28 pieces of Yeonsijo, the subjects were delivered effectively. This paper studies of aWuguk-Sijo extensively. However, it is in the center of a 〈WuGukga〉. So 〈WuGukga〉 28 pieces of work, and as discussed with the meaning of Yeonsijo. Furthermore, this is an effort to identify the relationship between times and the Sijo.
