기업의 프로젝트 관리능력과 프로젝트 성과의 상관관계 분석

Abstract

기업의 경쟁력과 미래의 성장가능성은 신제품개발과 같은 특별한 목적을 갖고 수행되는 프로젝트에 의해 결정되는 경우가 많다. 프로젝트의 중요성이 커지는 반면에 프로젝트를 체계적이고 효율적으로 관리하기 위한 역량을 갖추지 못하여 프로젝트 성과가 기대에 미치지 못하는 경우가 많다. 프로젝트 관리 역량은 성숙도로 측정될 수 있는데, 본 연구는 기업에서 구축한 프로젝트 관리 프로세스의 성숙도 차이에 따라 프로젝트 성과에 차이가 있는지를 조사하여 프로젝트 관리 성숙도와 프로젝트 성과의 관계를 파악하고자 하였다. 이와 같은 현상은 일반 기업뿐만 아니라 교회의 프로젝트 관리 능력과 교회에서 수행하는 여러 가지 복음사역에도 적용될 수 있다. 실증 연구를 위해 다양한 산업에서 프로젝트를 수행해 본 경험이 있는 프로젝트 참여자들을 대상으로 데이터를 수집하여 통계적인 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과를 정리해 보면 프로젝트 관리 성숙도는 프로젝트 성과에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 파악되었다. 특히 프로젝트 관리 지식영역 중에서 통합관리, 일정관리, 품질관리, 의사소통관리 분야가 프로젝트 성과에 유의한 영향을 미치는 중요한 요소로 파악되었으며, 조절효과로는 프로젝트 관리 교육을 제공하는 것이 프로젝트 관리 성숙도가 프로젝트 성과에 미치는 긍정적 영향을 더욱 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 로고스적인 의미를 파악해 보면 교회 조직의 프로젝트 관리 역량이 복음사역의 성과를 높이는데 긍정적 영향을 미칠 것이라는 시사점을 제공해 주고 있다는 것이다. Project management is becoming more important for business firms’ survival and growth. While the importance of projects is increasing, the project performance is often less than desirable in many organizations due to the limited project management capability, measured in terms of project management maturity. This phenomenon can also be applied to the cases of carrying out the ministry of Gospel in church when the church organizations as well as the individuals are not up to the required level in terms of religious maturity. This paper aims to examine the relationships between project management capability and project performance. First, we measure the project management capability of a firm in terms of project management maturity, and analyze its impacts on the project performance. Secondly, we examined the moderating effects of environmental variables such as project size, duration and the PM training and education provided to the project participants. The results showed that the four factors of integration management, time management, quality management, and communication management are the important factors affecting project performance. Also, PM training and education was found to have positive moderating effect on the relationship between project maturity and project performance.
