현대 남성패션에 나타난 프리프합 패션의 표현특성

Abstract

본 연구는 현대 남성패션에서 새롭게 발생한 프리프합 패션의 특성을 분석하고, 이를 통해 각기 다른 장르의 패션이 다양한 융합 현상을 통해 새로운 장르로 발생되고 발전할 수 있다는 것을 밝히는 데 그 목적이 있다. 연구의 방법으로 힙합과 프레피 룩 관련 사이트, 패션정보 관련 사이트, 인터넷 검색엔진 등을 통한 사례연구와 문헌 연구를 실시하였다. 자료 수집은 미국의 대표 힙합전문 매거진 XXL, COMPLEX와 힙합패션브랜드, 스타일사이트, 퍼스트뷰코리아 등을 활용하였다. 연구결과 프리프합 패션에서 도출된 특성은 정통성, 저항성, 유희성, 양성성으로 분류되었으며, 그 특성을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 프리프합 패션에서의 정통성은 프리프합 패션만이 가지는 개성있고 세련된 특성으로 형태적 특성과 밀접한 관계를 보인다. 열린 개념을 통한 다양성의 추구는 상반되는 문화의 패션 아이템들의 절충을 통해 새로운 룩을 발생시키고 이에 근원이 되는 새로운 가치의 정통성을 생성한다. 둘째, 프리프합 패션에서 저항성은 일반적인 주체들과의 구분을 위해 차별성을 부여하고 정체성 표현을 위해 의도적으로 이전의 보수적이고 저항적인 착장 규범과는 다른 개성 표현을 하였다. 셋째, 프리프합 패션에서의 유희성은 현대 패션에서 중요시하는 감성 추구를 통해 즐거움의 요소를 발견하고 정신적 위안을 제공하는 것이다. 넷째, 프리프합 패션에서 보여지는 양성성은 남성성과 여성성의 융합을 통한 이분법적 탈피로 표현되었다. 프리프합 패션에서 양성성은 단순히 두 성을 혼합하여 표현하는 것은 아니며 강조, 변형, 혼합, 축소 등을 통하여 디자인적인 발전을 나타내었으며, 창조적 감성으로 표현되었다. This study aims at discovering the possibilities that the fashion in various genres can be created and developed into new genres through various combinations by analyzing the characteristics of prep-hop fashion newly emerged in the contemporary men’s fashion. As for study methods, case studies and researches were conducted through the websites related to hiphop, preppy look and general fashion and other internet search engines. Data were collected from XXL, COMPLEX, which are two of the biggest hiphop based magazines in U.S.A., hiphop fashion brand, stylesight, and firstviewkorea. The result of research on prep-hop fashion’s features is as follows. The features of the prep-hop fashion show the percentages as follows; authenticity, resistance, playfulness, bisexuality and summarized as follows. First, authenticity of the prep-hop fashion is interpreted as its unique feature newly created through convergence of hiphop fashion and preppy look. The authenticity of each genre which was expressed differently before convergence is not expressed in the prep-hop fashion. Second, the resistance of prep-hop gives difference to the trend to differentiate itself from other general subjects. The third is playfulness. The modern fashion values emotion and it provides elements of pleasure and psychological comfort through it. Fourth, bisexuality of prep-hop is expressed as being out of the dichotomy through the convergence of masculinity and femininity.
