Abstract
In this paper, a method for estimating the unbalance mass using the current ripple of a vertical axis washing machine is presented. The torque equation of an electric motor was derived, and the torque ripple caused by the tangential force of the unbalance mass was coupled to the electric motor torque equation. Based on this method, the relationship between the current ripple and unbalance mass was estimated
