dc.description.abstractThis paper presents the simulation of electric motor which drives the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) system. The type of a vehicle is 6-wheel series hybrid combat vehicle. The vehicle is driven by In-wheel motor system composed of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM). Initially, the simulation of the whole vehicle system was built, obtaining dynamic characteristics. Some dynamic equations were used to build the simulation with MATLAB Simulink. The minimum power of the electric motor which is needed to drive the HEV was determined to apply to the motor simulation. It was determined by calculating resistance force acting on the vehicle and comparing it with traction forces obtained from simulation changing values of power of the motor. Finally, the simulation of the motor is built with MATLAB Simulink.en_US
