dc.description.abstractThis study investigates the effects of absorption characteristics of interior materials on speech privacy distance in high-speed trains. For the evaluation of speech privacy, a 1:10 scale model was used to reproduce room acoustical conditions in passenger cars on the basis of in-situ measurement data. The influences of absorption power of interior materials on privacy distance (rP) were investigated, and the results were shown that rP decreased by the absorption power increasing. Thus, acou stical treatments on interior material could enhance the speech privacy in high-speed train passenger cars.en_US
