Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify the value system - what is most valued property that cultural space visitors put their interesting to visit - based on the means-end chain theory using the laddering methods. This study is surveyed with the data that is collected from 426 visitors of 6 different cultural spaces which were converted from idle industrial facilities with hard laddering. To carry out this study, implication matrix was made by contents analysis and hierarchical value map was mapped. The hierarchical value map indicates the connections among attributes, functional consequences, psychosocial consequences and values. The results of this study are as follows: ease and convenience of accessibility to the places, beautiful surroundings, quiet atmosphere, various attractions and originality of the exhibits were the valuable attributes that visitors consider as important to choose cultural spaces. The hierarchical value map revealed four major linkages (1) Ease and convenience of accessibility to the places(A)-enjoying cultural life in everyday life(FC)-refreshment(PC)-heartsease(V). (2) Various attractions(A)-variety of experiences(FC)-satisfying curiosity(PC)-fun and excitement(V). (3) Quiet atmosphere(A)-
